Sigur Ros’ “Heima” Now Free On Youtube

Near it’s DVD release, Sigur Ros has posted the entire documentary for free on their website and Youtube.

As Stereogum writes:

“For us, you, and the other 600,000 people that know who the band are, this is a huge deal. For everyone else it will just be confusing.”

It has taken up almost the entire front page of Youtube (all the featured vids etc.)… Way to get the vid to a HUGE audience with already 100,000 hits. Hopefully this is the first of many band docs to be hosted on the site.

Heima Screenings

Sigur Ros has announced some theatrical screenings of their documentary Heima.

If you haven’t peeped the DVD check the trailer because it is real ill:

NME.com writes:

“The movie follows the band as they play a series of free shows in their home country of Iceland over the summer 2006.

All the screenings will feature surround sound audio.

‘Heima’ was released on DVD on November 20 and the release includes the film along with a second disc of live performances from all over Iceland, and there is a deluxe edition of the package that includes a 112 page hard bound photo book.

The screenings will take place at:

San Francisco, CA Embarcadero Center Cinema (December 18)
Denver, CO Chez Artiste (18)
Boston, MA Kendall Square Cinema (19)
Atlanta, GA Midtown Art Center (19)
Austin, TX Dobie Theatre (20)
Seattle, WA Metro Cinemas (20) ”
